Forbidden to read it by day, they begin a secret enactment by night that shatters the boundaries of the world they know. The hot-blooded action exposes adolescence at its most painful, exploring passion in this restrictive and repressed environment. Like Shakespeare's Romeo, prompted by confusing emotions and the stirring of sexual feelings, these boys are testing the waters of adulthood, experimenting with the roles and rules of becoming men. Their experience changes these boys profoundly: through their actions, and like Romeo and Juliet, these boys explode into adulthood.
